Our last day in Siem Reap. Actually it was only the morning because in the afternoon we flew to Laos. The morning shouldn't be wasted so we visited the temple Ta Prohm. The temple was built in the late 12th and early 13th centuries. According to Wikipedia, "Ta Prohm would be left largely as it had been found ... because it was one of the most imposing [temples] and the one which had best merged with the jungle, but not yet to the point of becoming a part of it".
Ta Prohm is unique and intriguing with trees growing in, out and around the structures. The tree root in the picture lower left looks like a snake. Then the center picture still looks lke the snake is crawling down the wall.
I was amused by the tree in the picture below right. To me it looks like a sculpture of w woman. Maybe someone is inside?
And the bottom picture shows there really are living creatures here.
On our way back to the hotel, we stopped at one last temple - Prasat Kravan. The temple was built in the 10th century. I found the temple quite interesting because of the bas reliefs on the walls. We hadn't seen anything like this in the other temples.
